Fresh Pineapple

Some pregnant women feel nauseated, especially during the first trimester. They try the usual crackers before getting out of bed. One thing to try would be fresh pineapple. I heard it has helped many because of the bromalane enzymes found in them. I think it is worth a try. Any other solutions out there?

Pregnancy Discomforts

One part of my childbirth class talks about all the discomforts a pregnant woman may encounter and complain about. Boy are they many! Many women have a combination of a several discomforts while others breeze through their pregnancy with a complaint. Too bad there not too many though of these lucky women. I often start with this topic in my first session so that the couples know that what they are feeling are normal and it happens to other pregnant ladies. It's not the end of the world and it too will pass. We discuss the way they handle the discomforts, what may cause it and how to prevent it... Surprisingly, some first time moms don't sometimes know these discomforts are normal. To those who experience them, these seem abnormal and strange. They struggle with it throughout pregnancy and try to find answers from their doctors, friends, family...

One thing I'd like to share that not many know, are the weired dreams that some women get. And believe it or not, their partners may have them too. This is caused by anxiety and concerns about the baby, pregnancy, etc...Boy the dreams that they sometimes share! Some don't like sharing them because they are afraid that it might come true.

Another condition that seems to be abnormal are the partners of these pregnant women who actually feel nauseated. Some men actually experience morning sickness and don't understand what is going on! Because they over empathize, if there is such a thing as over, they actually feel the discomfort weather or not his wife feels it.

Some wives have noticed with their husbands eating habit have increased. They actually eat as often as their wives. So much so that they gain weight through out the pregnancy. They end up complaining about their new rounded fatherly look.

More next time...

Childbirth Classes

Hi there! I am an childbirth educator in the Philippines and would like to invite you all to attend my childbirth classes, baby emergencies, baby care and breastfeeding. You may visit my website at http://preparedbirth.webmanila.com to see the schedule of my classes.

Although my birth experience with my first child was natural, meaning no anesthesia or intervention, terrific and meaningful, my interest in teaching these classes happened after the birth of my second child. It was such a wonderful experience! I was very prepared for the birth, I took Lamaze classes. I was very fortunate to have two labor coaches with me. One was a famous singer, Carla Martinez who sang praise songs throughout the whole birth. My son came out praising the Lord with his hands waving in the air. It was fun giving birth to my son! I had a God fearing doctor, Mayette Sapaula who prayed silently before my delivery. I captured it all on film. My other coach, Grace Zorilla took the moving camera. My sister in law Suzette was at the window next door watching the whole event. Later on she said she thought I was going to die! She was single then and this was the first time she sow a live birth. Later on I was in turn with her in one of her births. My husband? He was in the waiting room nervous as ever. He was like one of many who would faint at the sight of blood and to hide his nervousness would be more jittery and panicky than I. I found it best not to force him to be with me in the birth or I might be more concerned for him than giving birth myself. My son is going 16 years old now and the memory of his birth still lives in my memory up to this day. As clear as crystal! I thought this was something I could share to other couples. I wanted to give back to them the dignity of birth. To educate them and give them the kind of birth they want. To equip and prepare them for their labor and birth. To have them play an active role in the whole process and give them the opportunity to bond as a family. I had the determination to want to learn more and become a childbirth educator. This has become my mission. Till next time again. Good morning! Chiqui
